Pallettes - A series of films devoted to the great works in painting history. Delacroix - Under The Pavement Image - Three Glorious Days inspired Delacroix to create Liberty Giding The People. The painting soon proved to be controversial. Ingres - The Captive Eye - At the end of his career Ingres assembled twenty-five naked women on one canvas. From the Grand Odalisque to The Turkish Bath, an ongoing fascination with the Orient. Through a study of the artist's archives combined with laboratory analyses, a reconstruction of the painting can be made. Courbet - Dead Man's Place - 1851 A Burial At Ornans causes a scandal even though it is merely a depiction of a funeral ceremony among common people. The picture is an exercise in perception with hidden symbolic and pictorial implications.
