While the big retrospective Matisse & Picasso which will be a major event in 2002 (in London, Paris and New York), Les Films d'Ici are producing «Matisse & Picasso» by Philippe Kohly: 50 years of mutual fascination between two of the biggest artists of the century, an exceptional story of friendship and intense mutual curiosity. At the same time the opposition of their lives, characters and processes is the driving force of their relationship and the dramatic motive of the film. Beyond a cross-portrait, the director shows us Matisse through Picasso's eyes and Picasso through Matisse's eyes.
