| Résumé : |
The little volumes on HUMAN VALUES IN INDIAN LITERATURE, like the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Bhagavadgīta, Vachana, Haridasa, Bengalee, and Punjabi Literature, were prepared by eminent scholars in their respective fields: Dr. N.S. Anantha Rangacharya on the Bhagavadgita, Dr. S.Ramaswamy, Dr. R.Ganesh and Vid S.Rajagopal Sharma on "Human Values in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, Dr. Siddayya Puranik on Vachana Literature, Prof. K.T.Pandurangi and Prof. R.G.Kulkarni on "Haridasa Literature, Dr. Moutushi S.Chakravartee on Bengali Literature, Mrs. Gurbinder Chahal and Dr. Satishkumar Verma on Punjabi Literature". Each title on Human Values of this book, was prepared for our Book-pack series titled "Book-pack for the Young" researched and published by Bhavan's Gandhi Centre of Science and Human Values, Bengaluru in 1990's and it received unprecedented acclaim from the seers and scholars as a much needed and timely publication to initiate the young into the marvels of our ancient culture, value system and wisdom.
The Indian culture is both ancient and elevating. India is a country of many religions and languages. Due to employment, etc., nowadays people are not bound to live in the same region. If they understand their culture, values, and languages better, they can easily spread the values in other regions too. In all our regional literature, the main theme and motto are to propagate our enriched culture and value system to all. If we carefully studied and understood them, everyone could lead a life of peace and contentment. That is the reason why we felt the need to help young people clearly understand the many dimensions of the cultures together in an integrated series. As perhaps the youth of the day have not grasped it properly, we see a small section dangerously pursuing perverse paths that spell out catastrophe. Realising this truth, Dr. H.K.Ranganath, the Head of the Bhavan's Gandhi Centre of Science and Human Values during 1995-2003, had taken up the meaningful project of research and publication of these monographs, which gained all-round appreciation. |
