Voici l'histoire de Wang-Fô, le peintre chinois. Il parcourait le royaume des Han en compagnie de Ling, son fidèle disciple, à la recherche de nouveaux paysages. Ses tableaux étaient si beaux qu'on les disaient magiques. Mais un jour, l'empereur convoqua le vieux maître pour le menacer d'un terrible châtiment...
How Wang-Fô Was Saved is a short story set in medieval China, following the journey of Wang-Fô, an elderly painter, and his devoted disciple, Ling. Wang-Fô's art is so captivating that it blurs the line between reality and imagination. The Emperor, having grown disillusioned with the world after being exposed to Wang-Fô's idealized paintings, summons the artist to punish him for creating illusions that made reality seem disappointing.
